A Genuine Indian Kadhai Fire Pit Bowl

This Fire Pit is a genuine Indian style cooking pot called a Kadhai and has been used by Indian villagers to cook large quantities of food for festivals and celebrations for 100’s of years. These cooking pots are no longer suitable for cooking and have been re-purposed as a Fire Pit Bowl. All the Kadhai’s have been sourced ethically from the villages of Rajasthan.

These Kadhai’s are made by hand by riveting iron plates together; some are over 100 years old and bear the scars of years of use. You can just imagine the celebrations had around these pots.

The Kadhai’s range from 75cm in diameter right up to 125cm in diameter. They have a height ranging from 20cm to 30cm, they all come with a stand, which measures 15cm high and brings the total height to around 40cm.

It is important to note that as these Kadhai’s are not mass produced, supply is limited and availability depends on what has been sourced. Each one is different with its character as individual as the person who crafted it. The thickness may vary, as will the heights, widths and weights.
